HOW IT STARTED!

THE BLOOMERS COMMUNITY WAS A RESULT OF FAITH IN MOTION!

The Bloomers Community began sowing seeds of servanthood and sisterhood in Zambia in 2019. Its mission is deeply rooted in faith, and its vision is unity among women in God’s kingdom.

Our journey traces back to the summer of 2018 at Lakeside, Montana, USA. After facing challenges in finding a job in her field of finance and entrepreneurship, Beliya felt God prompting her to step out in faith and trust His plan. Seeking to make the most of the season, she took a leap
and applied for a role as a camp counselor at Glacier Camp.

It was there, surrounded by the beauty of creation and a community of believers, that God spoke to her heart about the importance of trusting the process and embracing His call to unite women in servanthood and sisterhood. This transformative experience not only deepened Beliya’s faith but also planted the vision for what would later become The Bloomers Community—a space where women are encouraged to grow together, serve one another, and advance God’s kingdom.

If you would like to get involved as a volunteer, you can register at the end of the year and take part in an interview process that will allow us to get to know you better and place you in the right department for your gifts and growth.

Stories of Transformation

Real Women, Real Faith, Real Growth

Billa Mutambo

Before I discovered the discipleship program, I felt adrift in my faith and overwhelmed by the challenges of everyday life. I longed for guidance and a deeper connection with God, yet I wasn’t sure where to turn. Then, I took a leap of faith and joined the discipleship program—a decision that would transform my life in ways I never imagined.

From the very first session, I experienced a sense of belonging. The program wasn’t just about studying the Bible; it was about building a genuine community of support, accountability, and shared purpose. I met mentors who listened without judgment, friends who encouraged me to grow, and a network of believers who demonstrated God’s love through their actions. As I engaged in prayer, group discussions, and reflective exercises, I began to see the fingerprints of God in every aspect of my life. I learned that faith isn’t a destination but a journey a daily commitment to trust, learn, and grow.

Inspired by the deep connections and personal breakthroughs in the discipleship program, I then decided to join the Seeds of Change program. This next step allowed me to put my growing faith into action. Seeds of Change was about more than personal development; it was about actively participating in transformative community work. I had the opportunity to serve others, witness firsthand the power of small acts of kindness, and contribute to projects that brought hope and renewal to those in need.

If I could describe my Discipleship Journey, it would be BLOOMING GOD’S WAY.

When I first became a disciple, I was spiritually imbalanced, emotionally confused and felt mentally rushed. I could not grow or simply BLOOM GOD’S WAY because I did not know my Identity in Christ and I was Intimidated by so many things, my mind and heart were after the wrong things.

With the help of the leaders who walked with us, the courses I took on Identity, Self Awareness and Breaking Intimidation, the interactive sessions with the lovely ladies in the community,I found myself letting go of my idea of how I thought I should be but embraced God’s truth of who He wanted me to be.

I was refined and planted in new soil until I found myself Blooming In God’s Way. It has been a very rewarding journey and I still apply what I learned in my daily life.

Being part of the Bloomer’s community has been a fulfillment of God’s Word in my life: “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25, NLT) Before joining the Bloomer’s community, I was searching for a place to grow and give back. Although I found a community, it wasn’t God-centered. I took a moment to ask God, and somehow He caught my attention, redirecting me and my desires. In the Bloomer’s community, I found a group of ladies passionate about loving and living for God. Through this community, I have grown in my relationship with Him through the community’s programs, prayer, and the Word, which has positively impacted all areas of my life, including my relationships and career. I am still growing, and God continues to work in me for His glory.

I often say I’m the first Discipleship graduate of Bloomers. I joined the community in its early days, unaware of how much growth and transformation I needed. I was withdrawn, cold, and broken when I arrived—but Bloomers became a safe space where God met me in ways I never expected. Through the grace, love, and vulnerability woven into this community, I discovered my identity in Christ. Here, I found healing for parts of my heart I didn’t even know were wounded. I learned that true strength is found in vulnerability, and it’s okay to not have it all together. Bloomers refined my leadership, helped me confront my fears, and, most importantly, surrounded me with friendships rooted in faith and authenticity. I’m deeply grateful for the privilege of co-laboring to bring this vision to life. Looking back, I know without a doubt that God knew I needed to be in this community.

My experience with the discipleship program has been very rewarding. Modules  like Breaking Intimidation, Self Awareness, and Identity really stood out, giving me insights and tools that I know will stick with me in my personal and spiritual growth.

The mentoring sessions were a major highlight. They reminded me that true fulfillment comes from serving, not just in the results, but in the process of giving yourself to others.

Being part of the Seeds of Change campaign took this even further. Seeing the impact of small, intentional efforts on people’s lives made me realize how powerful service can be. It wasn’t just about helping others; it was about growing alongside them.

This program has shaped me in ways I didn’t expect, and I’m truly grateful for the journey.

The program as whole really just allowed for me to know who I am in Christ.

I have never been this confident in my faith before because of the module on Salvation. My mentors allowed for me to look deeper into what salvation means for me as an individual and now I don’t take what Christ did for me on the cross for granted.

This program has also allowed me to embrace the gift God has given me. Breaking Intimidation has become a lifestyle and I’m so grateful I did this program.
